Smart Roadster Roof Operation

The electrics in the roadster are temperamental at the best of times so how do you force the roof open on a hot day or force it closed at the end of the day or if it won t.

After a few attempts the roof opened. Insert both hardtop halves in the hardtop brackets as described starting on page 5 11. The motor is easily to remove replace the hardest bit is removing the 2 or 3 torx screws. Used but no issues with roof operation.

Can any one help. The roadster has a single roof motor which is found under carpet just ahead of engine cover. Convertible roof is stuck open shut. Really lovely smart roadster roof bought for me as a gift but i never used it as i already had one.

Alignment issues with roof frame. Trying to open the cabrio roof nothing moved and a clicking noise could be heared from the rear where the roof motor is housed it sounded like an electrical clicking noise. Roof requires recalibration or roof reset. Inserting the hardtop in the hardtop bag insert the hardtop with the hardtop for external storage brackets into the hardtop bag.
